Horray !!…it stopped raining,we headed off to Aberthaw in sunshine,a bit wind making for a slightly choppy sea but easily fishable.The day started well with a 21lb Conger first fish onboard,and continued with a steady run of double figure conger,various ray species, Bull Huss and of course “doggies”.

The high winds of the past week had abated so we were out in search of some elusive fish.The day turned out to be pretty soggy,with constant rain.Strap congers,dogfish and thornback rays making up the days action
Lady Helen Regulars from Farthings Restaurant in Cowbridge joined us ,on a flat calm sunny day.A steady stream of fish throughout the day,with doggies in large numbers as usual,with half a dozen good sized Bull Huss, Thornback and Blonde rays to 10lb ,Codling,Whiting ,Conger and Starry Smoothound making up a good day fishing.
Stronger than expected winds made for an interesting days fishing off Aberthaw,the first Smoothounds of the year coming aboard,along with a good mixed catch including Blonde and Thornback Rays,Conger,Countless Dogfish a stray Codling and rockling.

We were joined for the day by the guys from Nottage Jounery.Another good day off Aberthew with a stedy stream of fish,The guys went to the trouble of pumping fresh Black lug and picking fresh peeler crab,which certainly paid off in the shape of the bonus of half a dozen late season Cod….

Calm,sunny conditions made for a great day off Aberthaw,witha busy days fishing.A good variety of species caught including Dogfish,Bull Huss,Spotted and Thornback Rays,Conger and ROckling.
