Great news the sprats have started to disperse,and the cod are slowly coming back on the feed,with the whiting starting to show increasing numbers,lots of good sized thornbacks also being caught.The weather man got the forecast right,and it was a nice couple of settled days , all be it a bit on the chilly side……

After a couple of unproductive trips on Saturday, Sunday morning brought thick fog and zero viasability,together with mirror flat sea .Six Bells angling club joined us as we locked out and slowly eased our way thro the other boats dotted around in the fog,some without radar seemed to be going round in circles.Sprats still showing […]
Falt calm,and not a sprat in sight on the fish finder,make for a promising day.We were not disapointed the codling returned to bottom feeding with a good few fish in the 2-3lb size range boated ,along with whiting,pouting and thornback rays.

After the previous days fresh winds ,a flat calm channel greeted us,allowing Lady Helen to venture further down channel,away from the sprat shoals.The move further afield payed off,with Cod to 7lb 8oz and Thornback Rays to 10lb 8oz,along with whiting,pouting and small conger.
